COPYING & PRINTING

The MX-M450/M350 series has a quick first copy time of 4.4/4.9 seconds to save valuable time when performing multiple short-run jobs.

With a continuous output of 45/35 cpm/ppm *, the MX-M450/M350 series allows you to produce large-volume documents that include memory-intensive graphics in less time.

The MX-M450/M350 series can be equipped with an optional 50-sheet DSPF (duplex single pass feeder), which scans both pages of two-sided documents up to A3 (11" x 17") in size in one pass. Doing away with the reversing circuit minimises paper misfeeds and vastly improves reliability. With a scanning speed of 60 pages per minute for two-sided originals and 37 pages for single-sided in Standard mode, the MX-M450/M350 series finishes even large projects quickly.

The MX-M450/M350 series easily handles copy jobs exceeding the DSPF's 50-sheet capacity*1 . Large-volume documents of up to 10,000 pages*2 are automatically stored in the MX-M450/M350 series' hard disk*3 . Users can then print the entire document in a single run.

The MX-M450/M350 series makes it easy to create professional-looking booklets. Working together with the highly productive built-in stackless duplex module, the optional Saddle Stitch Finisher folds and staples sets of documents to make completed booklets. A Finisher is also available for jobs that require only simple sorting and stapling. And, a Punch Module allows you to punch holes in documents for easy filing. These high-performance finishing capabilities save you valuable time and money by reducing costly outsourcing.

The MX-M450/M350 series' Scan Once/Print Many function requires only a single scan of a multi-page original for copying, while its RIP Once/Print Many function needs only a single download of the print data from the PC for printing. The MX-M450/M350 series then automatically outputs collated sets of copies or printouts in the proper page order. Each set is stacked offset for easier retrieval and up to 999 copies can be made directly from memory. This highly productive process allows you to easily handle high-volume jobs.

The MX-M450/M350 series can make two-sided copies and printouts when equipped with the duplex module or duplex module with bypass tray*, effectively reducing paper costs as well as saving filing space. Duplex copying is even more productive when used together with the DSPF.

For large-volume jobs and a wider selection of available paper sizes, the MX-M450/M350 series can accommodate optional paper drawers for a capacity of up to 3,100 sheets . When a tray runs out of paper, the Auto Tray Switching function automatically switches to another paper tray filled with the same size paper. This allows you to do extra-large volume jobs without worrying about running out of paper.

When two MX-M450/M350 series machines are connected to the same office network, you can use both simultaneously to double output to up to 90/70 cpm/ppm. Operation is simple and the machines can even be in different locations. With just a few keystrokes, you can handle large-volume jobs to meet tight deadlines.

The MX-M450/M350 series supports PCL5e and PCL6 printer languages. For compatibility with PostScript 3, the AR-PK6 PS3 Expansion Kit is available.

The MX-M450/M350 series works as a network printer* with the latest and most commonly used network operating systems and protocols, including IPv6, and even in mixed network OS environments. With a 64-bit, 466-MHz CPU, you get powerful network printing via 100Base-TX and 10Base-T Ethernet standards.

You get ultra-detailed reproduction with 600 x 600-dpi resolution. The printing resolution can be enhanced to 1,200 dpi (with smoothing). Digital Auto Exposure Control provides optimum copy contrast, and Text/Photo mode automatically adjusts the copy contrast for documents containing both text and photos.

In Job Status mode, the control panel displays a list of all jobs, whether printing, copying, scanning or faxing. See at a glance which job is in progress and where your job is in the queue. You can also change the print queue order with one touch of the LCD screen. Urgent jobs can receive priority, meaning you don't have to wait until other jobs are finished.

When conventional printers run out of the paper needed for a specific job, the machine stops until it is reloaded. With the MX-M450/M350 series, however, you never need to wait on someone else's job; the MX-M450/M350 series automatically proceeds to the next possible job in the queue.

The optional Mail Bin Stacker is ideal for offices where large groups of people use the same machine. When printing, avoid mixing up your documents with those of other users by pre-selecting one of seven destination bins for your documents.

Print
• With PDF/TIFF Direct Print*, you save valuable time by printing PDF and TIFF files without using the printer driver or opening applications: you can print the file directly from an FTP server (pull print), a Web page (push print), or an e-mail attachment.

* Direct PDF printing requires optional AR-PK6; please consult your sales representative for further details.

• Carbon Copy Print mode automatically outputs multiple printouts of the same data on plain and/or coloured paper from different paper trays; convenient for invoices and purchase orders.

• Proof Printing allows you to check a trial set before printing out a document in large numbers in order to avoid printing mistakes.


• Barcode font compatibility (requires optional AR-PF1 Barcode Font Kit)

Copy
• Book Copy is convenient for compiling copies of a book or bound originals into pamphlet format.

• Card Shot enables one-touch copying of both sides of a card (credit cards, ID cards, etc.) onto a single page.

• Stamp labels your copy with entered text, page numbers, the date, or a reverse character set such as "CONFIDENTIAL".
